The Gallery by M&C Saatchi is pleased to present works by Berlin-based artist Anni Heuchel. The exhibition titled "Always Love" will take place from April 25th to 28th, 2024.

The series of works explores its theme under the premise that humanity lacks a unified idea of love. Celebrating this fact, 16 works approach the matter in all its diversity.

The artist is inspired by various teachings: Vladimir Jankélévitch believes that when we love, it's not because of effort, but because we recognize and choose a loved subject by its "selfhood". Many of the images thus flowed into strangely monumental and holy forms.

However, as no philosophical theory can keep pace with the heartbeat, Heuchel's images also seek visual realities that can be emotionally and intuitively perceived. Logic has no place in love or art. So, alongside the calm of loving portraits, there are also fever-dream-like scenes and chaos. The exhibition thus ultimately examines the bright, dark, and ambivalent sides of love.
